A feed is a selected view of available information. Some posts appear near the top, others appear later, and many never appear at all.
A recommendation system selects or orders material that a service predicts may be relevant or interesting to a user. Different services use different methods and goals, and those methods can change.
Understanding this selection helps you interpret what a feed can tell you. A recommended post is evidence that the system chose to show it, not that the post is accurate, representative, or important in the wider world.
