Course description

We cannot inspect every part of our own thinking directly. We can, however, notice what we are trying to do, make predictions about our performance, and compare them with what happens. This ability to monitor and guide learning is called metacognition. The final course brings the path together. You will distinguish a feeling of understanding from an independent check, compare confidence with accuracy over several cases, and build a learning plan around a specific goal. The closing lesson explains how to review a small change without turning a few good or bad days into a sweeping story about yourself. The aim is a usable method of self-correction.
