Course description

Knowing what you intend to do is only part of following through. Feelings affect what matters to you, tiredness and stress can change the demands you can manage, and familiar situations can bring familiar actions to mind. These influences belong in an account of thinking rather than being treated as personal defects. This course explains emotions and interpretations, the effect of current conditions, and the relationship between motivation and task design. It then examines habits and ways to support a chosen goal. The practical suggestions are ways to organize ordinary activities and examine what helps. They are not a treatment plan or a promise that the same routine will work for everyone.
