People sometimes coordinate secretly to deceive others or gain an unfair advantage. Such plans can be exposed through records, testimony, and careful investigation.
At the same time, a story about a hidden plan can appear to explain almost anything. It may connect unrelated events, assume motives, and treat every objection as another sign of concealment.
The useful distinction is between a claim that can be investigated and an explanation that protects itself from every possible challenge. Neither automatic trust nor automatic suspicion will settle the facts.
