Course description

Reasoning is something we already use when choosing an action, explaining an event, or deciding whether a claim deserves belief. This course makes that process easier to examine. It introduces the language used throughout the path without assuming any previous study of logic. Start by understanding what reasoning does. Then learn to separate factual claims, interpretations, preferences, reasons, evidence, and assumptions. The final unit examines confidence and revision: how to give an answer that matches the information you have, and how to change it when better information arrives. The practice questions ask you to judge particular answers rather than repeat definitions. Read the explanations even when you choose correctly; they show why a nearby answer can be tempting and where it goes wrong.
